Trigger Groups are typically used when:
- location services are unavailable or
- for indoor Missions.
Trigger Groups will allow you to group a set of Challenges together under a single QR Code or IR (Image Recognition) Trigger, which players can then scan to unlock and play. We recommend grouping about four Challenges together into one, as this will allow you to print and install about five QR Codes or IR Triggers for your Mission (instead of 20).
You should create a map for your Mission before adding a Trigger Group. You can do this by clicking “Edit Map” in the “My Missions” page. To create a Trigger Group, go into the Mission Edit page by clicking the “Edit” (pencil icon) button in the Actions column on the My Missions page. Then, click “Add New Trigger Group”.
Create a name for your New Trigger Group, such as “Group #1” or “Northeast Challenges.” On the map, double click to drop a pin at the location where you will physically install the QR Code or IR Trigger. This will allow players to navigate to the spot on the map where you’ve placed QR Codes or IR Triggers for them to scan. Click “Save”. Repeat these steps to create another Trigger Group.
To create the Challenges for the Trigger Groups, follow the steps in the Creating Challenges section below and make sure you assign the Challenge to the Trigger Group in the Create/Edit Challenge page. You can assign a Challenge to a Trigger Group by selecting a Trigger Group name from the Trigger Group fields dropdown.
