In the Mission Type field, you can choose how you want your Mission to operate. There are three options:
1. GPS-based Missions
Players search outdoors for GPS-based Challenges (like virtual geocaching). Players use the geolocation services in their device to locate the Challenges. The player’s location is indicated by a circular player marker on the Mission’s map. Arrows also help point the player to the nearest 3 Challenges, which are indicated by question marks. Once a player is within the Reveal Radius of a Challenge, it becomes playable. GPS-based Missions are recommended for outdoor locations. Weather, tall buildings, heavy tree canopy and mountainous terrain can interfere with GPS accuracy.
2. Trigger-based Missions
Players use Image Recognition Triggers (triggers can be images, signs or other real world objects) or QR Codes that are placed at your Mission. Players must scan the correct triggers in order to unlock the Challenges. Trigger-based Missions are recommended for onsite indoor locations such as visitor centers or museums and ‘play at home’ Missions when you need your players to have access to your Mission from any location. Trigger-based Missions are also a good option for areas with low GPS accuracy.
3. Mixed Missions
A Mixed Mission supports both GPS-based Challenges and Trigger-based Challenges. This type is recommended for Missions that have an indoor and outdoor component.
